La Conner Guitar Festival proudly presents:

An Incredible evening with guitar masters

      Peter Janson & Steve Davison

Steve and Peter have been touring together for years, they share a devotion to the heart and soul of acoustic guitar music, and to the music that is tied to history and tradition. We are delighted to welcome them back to the La Conner Guitar Festival!

Peter Janson is an acclaimed award-winning contemporary solo guitarist, composer, and music educator with recordings reaching No. 2 in Billboard (Billboard Heat Seekers – Old Black Roller, Grant Maloy-Smith) and performances at Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall, the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Healdsburg Guitar Festival, the La Conner Guitar Festival, the Argenta Acoustic Music Series in Little Rock, the WUMB Music Festival in Boston, and many other festivals and venues throughout North America. He has had three solo albums in the Top Five of the NAR radio charts and his recordings have over one-million BMI verified broadcasts across all media. Janson won an NAR Lifestyle Music Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for his CD, Beautiful Day, and Album of the Year and Best Instrumental Album Acoustic awards for his co-writing and performing on Jamie Bonk’s CD My World. He has composed and recorded music on 14 national and international recordings, including six CDs under his name; music for video games; and music that has been featured on a variety of regional and national documentaries including CBS News' “Living in the Shadows: Religion's response to human trafficking.” His recordings have been featured on PBS, commercial and college radio, syndicated radio, Sirius/XM, Music Choice TV, Pandora, Spotify, and in-flight programming resulting in over 1/2 million BMI verified broadcasts.

Steve Davison is a finger style guitarist who composes on both the 6 and 12 string guitar. An aging hipster, his musical career started at age 12 playing the drums in a multitude of rock and roll bands. At the tender age of 19 he saw a performance on solo acoustic guitar in Denton, Texas by a performer named Thom Ward (who he would really like to locate!) that changed his life. He put down the sticks and picked up the guitar and started a life long journey of discovery. Steve is a 2 time finalist and 2005 winner of the solo competition at the Arkansas Acoustic Music Festival and a finalist in the 2009 Ozark Folk Center Merle Travis Fingerstyle Competition and the winner of the Ozark Folk Center Merle Travis Contemporary Competition in 2016.. Mr. Davison was a featured performer on Arkansas Educational Network Television’s “AETN Presents” broadcast and his music was also used as a soundtrack for another AETN production, “The Historic Bridges of Arkansas”. Steve’s compositions are built around simple melodic structures and focus on the intimate qualities of the wooden guitar and the tonal possibilities of alternate tunings that give the guitar such an extraordinary range. Steve has performed in acoustic venues around the country including the Healdsburg Guitar Festival in California and the Montreal Guitar Festival in Montreal, Quebec., The Memphis Guitar Show and the La Conner Guitar Festival. He has toured with Ken Bonfield and Peter Janson as Artistry of the Guitar and has also shared the stage with Ed Gerhard, Muriel Anderson, Larry Coryell, Dakota Dave Hull, Tim Farrell, Teja Gerken, Tim Sparks, Aaron Larget-Caplan, Adam Miller, Danny Dozier, Micky Rigby, Doug Young and others.
